A Motorola announced on the Brazilian market the launch of the long-awaited foldable smartphone Razr 50. This launch, which took place last Thursday (26), brings a smartphone that combines great design, cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence (AI) advanced.

The Razr 50 arrives in Brazil with a suggested price of R$ 5.499positioning itself as a premium option in the foldable segment. What really catches the eye about this model is its 3.6-inch external screen, a substantial increase compared to the previous 1.5-inch version. This expansion is not just an aesthetic change, but a functional transformation that redefines the user’s interaction with the device.

Larger external and internal screen

The evolution of the external screen follows a trend that began with the Razr 40 Ultra last year, which introduced a significantly larger secondary display. The Razr 50 improves on this concept, offering an almost complete experience without having to open the device.

Although slightly smaller than the Razr 50 Ultra’s 4-inch screen, the new model maintains a balance between functionality and design, with a more pronounced bezel that adds a touch of elegance.

Internally, the Razr 50 doesn’t disappoint, featuring a 6.9-inch pOLED display that unfolds to reveal an immersive visual experience. This combination of external and internal displays creates a versatile device, capable of adapting to different needs and usage situations.

Gemini artificial intelligence

Motorola has incorporated a number of generative AI features into the Razr 50, most notably the integration of the Razr’s Gemini assistant. Googleaccessible directly from the external screen. This functionality allows users to interact with the virtual assistant without having to open their smartphone, making the experience more fluid and convenient.

In addition to Gemini, Motorola has developed proprietary AI tools, such as Magic Compose, which offers intelligent suggestions for text messages, and Photomoji, which transforms photos into personalized emojis or stickers.

Style Match and Magic Canvas are other interesting new features. The first creates wallpapers based on the user’s clothing, while the second generates images from textual descriptions, adding a touch of personalization and creativity to the device.

In terms of photography, the Razr 50 features a set of dual cameras on the outside. The main camera has a 50-megapixel sensor, complemented by a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens that also works for macro photos.

Although it doesn’t have the telephoto lens present in the Ultra model, the Razr 50 makes up for it with a series of AI features to improve the quality of photos and videos, including intelligent stabilization, automatic night mode and dual capture.

Under the hood, the Razr 50 is equipped with 12 GB of RAM, expandable up to 24 GB via RAM boost technology. The 512GB internal storage surpasses that of the Ultra model, offering ample space for apps, photos and videos. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, although aimed at the mid-range segment, promises balanced performance for most everyday tasks.

Durability was an evident concern in the design of the Razr 50, which features IPX8 water protection. The 4,200 mAh battery supports 30 W fast charging, promising to recharge half capacity in just 23 minutes, a crucial feature for users who rely on their smartphones throughout the day.
