Does the PS5 Pro’s high price confirm that Sony is the “Apple of video games”?

Surprisingly, the Best Buy chain of stores took the initiative to reveal an aspect that was highly anticipated by enthusiasts: the console packaging design. The PS5 Pro’s casing maintains a familiar aesthetic, closely reminiscent of that used on the Digital Edition of the original 2020 PS5 and PS5 Slim.

The images released show a predominantly black box, displaying a representation of the console on the left side. This gives enthusiasts and potential buyers a preview of what the device will look like.

In contrast to its predecessor, Sony chose not to mention 8K resolution in the specifications visible on the packaging. Instead, the company only emphasized the ability to run games in 4K at 120 FPS. This change suggests a more conservative approach compared to the ultra-high resolution promises made for the previous model.

Another notable change is the absence of a disc drive on the PS5 Pro, a fact now clearly indicated in the top right corner of the box. Sony’s strategy seems to be to provide as much information as possible about this improved version of the console.

Although the pre-sale date in Brazil has not yet been confirmed, the Sony ensures that the global launch in November will go ahead as planned. What do you think of the PS5 Pro box design?
