Kingston announces XS1000 external SSD in red

Kingston has announced its new XS1000 external SSD, which will come in red, maintaining all the patterns seen in the black version of the device and expanding the options for those who want a different design in their compact solution.

The version will not differ from the model launched in the past, bringing the same reading speed of 1,050 MB/s via USB 3.2 Gen 2 and being able to reach 2TB of storage – allowing you to save your photos, videos, games and the most diverse files.

The Kingston XS1000 external drive also comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable, as well as a USB-A to USB-C adapter – ensuring maximum compatibility with new devices as well as legacy computers.

Weighing less than 29 grams and measuring 69.5×32.6mm, the model also won the Red Dot Award for Best Product Design earlier this year. The award has been running since 1955 and is one of the largest and most prestigious design competitions – receiving more than 20,000 submissions annually from approximately 60 countries.

According to Kingston, the XS1000 in red is also compatible with Windows 11, 10, macOS (v.10.15.x+), Linux (v. 4.4.x+), Chrome OS, Android, and iOS/iPadOS (v.13+) systems.

A new option at Kingston

Kingston’s red XS1000 external SSD now joins the same model in black and the XS2000 – sold in silver. According to the manufacturer, it will be available in storage capacities of 1TB and 2TB – and will be backed by its five-year warranty.

According to Kingston SSD Business Manager Keith Schimmenti, the launch further expands the range of options that customers can select – according to their personal preference and without sacrificing performance.

Given the success of the black XS1000, we’ve introduced a new colorway for consumers looking to stand out and express themselves through color. With the addition of the red XS1000, they now have more options for external storage in an award-winning design.
