Beelink launches distinctive GPU dock for its mini PCs

Beelink has launched a new dock for external GPUs this week with a unique solution to ensure more performance. Unlike other solutions that rely on Thunderbolt (USB4) or OCuLink, the CX eGPU features a PCIe 4.0×8 connection to be connected directly to the card.

The advantage promised by the manufacturer is more performance. Connecting directly via the device’s PCIe 4.0 port, the bandwidth can reach up to 128Gbps, something especially important for a dock compatible with the RTX 4090. Other solutions such as Thunderbolt 4 and OCuLink can reach a maximum of 40Gbps and 64Gbps, respectively.

However, there is a trade-off. While many docks are universal for various mini PCs and notebooks, the CX eGPU can only be used on mini PCs in the Beelink GTi12 and GTi14 lines. These small computers come prepared with access for the PCIe 4.0 slot of their cards, and can be connected without difficulty to the dock.

It is also worth noting that the dock comes with a 600W power supply. This means that the mini PC can be connected directly to the stand, eliminating the need for an extra cable to the socket.

Beelink’s new dock price and availability

For those who were already interested in a Beelink mini PC and would like to buy a dock, the bad news is that it will be necessary to import it. As always, the device was first announced in China, with a suggested price of 599 yuan (R$ 460). The manufacturer is offering a discount when purchasing it together with a GTi 12 mini PC, bringing the price of the dock down to 299 yuan (R$ 229).
