NVIDIA estimates 55% increase in high-end GPU sales by 2025

It’s no secret that NVIDIA’s “Blackwell” GPUs will be a big deal in 2025. However, research firm TrendForce reveals that they will bring a significant increase in sales for the manufacturer – leading to a 55% annual growth in high-end graphics card shipments next year.

Furthermore, it is estimated that the “Blackwell” platform will be the manufacturer’s best-selling platform in the same period – representing up to 80% of its total sales in 2025.

TrendForce’s observations indicate that NVIDIA, in 2024, will sustain itself by shipping high-end GPUs from the “Hopper” line – with the H100 and H200 models being the main ones sold to its commercial partners in the US and Europe, while China will receive servers equipped with the H20.

They also report that sales of H200 boards are expected to increase from the third quarter of 2024 – becoming the “mainstream” model used by the data center and artificial intelligence industry by 2025.

NVIDIA’s focus on 2025

The launch of NVIDIA’s high-end B100 and B200 “Blackwell” GPUs is still scheduled for the second half of 2024 – with an eye on their popularization starting next year.

Additionally, the manufacturer is also expected to launch a B200A version – a cut planned for enterprise customers and focused only on cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications.

It’s important to note that NVIDIA wants to focus shipments of the B200 and GB200 to commercial partners and telecom services – while the B100 will only be a low-power “transitional” product, which should be replaced by improved models over time.

Shipments of NVIDIA’s high-end “Blackwell” GPUs are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, as the manufacturer faces challenges in mass production and throughput when using CoWoS-S packaging technology.
