We are approaching mid-August and the patch promised by Intel to alleviate instability issues with Raptor Lake CPUs should arrive soon. A new assurance from the company, according to a presentation in China, is that This patch will not change the frequencies of these processors.
According to a Chinese tech blogger (via Videocardz), who was at an Intel event with ASUS, it was guaranteed that the turbo frequencies of the 13th and 14th generation Intel Core CPUs will be maintained, as well as the overclocking functionalities of the SKUs ending in K.
This is an important statement, since when the whole situation involving Intel Raptor Lake processors emerged, motherboard manufacturers released BIOS updates to fix power profiles, impacting the performance of these CPUs.
Extended warranty for Raptor Lake CPUs
At this event, something was also said that we had already reported here regarding the warranty of Intel Raptor Lake processors. The affected models will have an extended warranty of between 2 and 5 years. This longer warranty is exclusive to the following SKUs:

- Core i9-13900KS
- Core i9-13900K
- Core i9-13900KF
- Core i9-13900
- Core i7-13700K
- Core i7-13700KF
- Core i7-13790F
- Core i7-13700F
- Core i7-13700
- Core i5-13600K
- Core i5-13600KF
Intel Core 14th Gen
- Core i9-14900KS
- Core i9-14900K
- Core i9-14900KF
- Core i9-14900F
- Core i9-14900
- Core i7-14700K
- Core i7-14700KF
- Core i7-14790F
- Core i7-14700F
- Core i7-14700
- Core i5-14600K
- Core i5-14600KF
Intel is working to implement different types of RMA for affected processors. There are two different groups that are valid for triggering the RMA. The first group is valid for processors purchased by the user in a store. In this case, it is necessary to contact Intel customer support.
The second group refers to customers who purchased systems assembled by third parties, such as a PC assembled by a store or by partner manufacturers. In this case, it is necessary to contact the store or manufacturer directly.
The Chinese blogger also revealed other information from Intel’s event. Regarding the Arrow Lake processors, the next generation of desktop CPUs, it was said that they will have at least 100W of less consumption while maintaining high frequencies. The new manufacturing process of this generation would eliminate the problems seen in Intel Raptor Lake.
