While cheaper GPUs tend to be the most popular here, in South Korea, the dominant GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super. A survey of the South Korean market reveals that, In these first 7 months of the year, the Ada Lovelace GPU was in great demand, establishing itself as the most popular there by far.

The GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series has replaced the non-SUPER GPUs in the lineup (only the 4070 remains). As a result, the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti have all but disappeared from the South Korean market with less than 1% share, with the RTX 4070 being next, as it registers low numbers (1.91%).

The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER dominates by a wide margin with over 12% market share. This figure is almost double that of the second-placed RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, which closed July at 6.5%, a slight drop of 0.41% compared to June.

Speaking of decline, the king GPU of the South Korean market has also been registering a decline since April, when it reached a maximum peak of 14.86%, a lot for a product in this segment alone. The RTX 4080 SUPER has also had its ups and downs and now has a 4.55% share.

South Koreans’ favorite brands and prices

The chart below shows NVIDIA’s GPU pricing from January to July of this year. There is some stability in the RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. The RTX 4070 Ti, on the other hand, became more expensive each month, closing July with the biggest drop of the year. The RTX 4080 SUPER remained cheaper until June, closing July with a high.

Regarding South Korean gamers’ favorite manufacturers, there is a dispute between Gigabyte, MSI and EMtek, depending on the chip. Among the three SUPER GPUs, owners of the most popular prefer Gigabyte, while those who have an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER prefer MSI models and EMtek is the preference when we talk about the RTX 4080 SUPER.

Here, a GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER costs around R$4,100, a little more depending on the model and store, around R$200/300 more than the base model. In South Korea, the mid-range Ada Lovelace GPU costs the equivalent of 3,882, still cheaper than here, even with the conversion.

According to Steam’s latest hardware survey, the RTX 4070 SUPER, popular in South Korea, is used by 0.95% of users and is growing every month. Despite being relatively expensive, it has more users than the best-ranked AMD Radeon GPU, the RX 580 with its 0.78%.
