A Aoostar has launched a docking station that allows you to connect an external graphics card to a notebook or mini-PC. Solutions like this aim to allow devices that originally have a low-performance graphics chip, or that do not allow upgrades (in the case of embedded solutions) to use a desktop graphics card, connected directly to the dock. In addition to supporting the high-speed interfaces, OCuLink and Lenovo TGX, this new dock from Aoostar draws attention because it already comes with an integrated power supply.
Dubbed A01, this new dock measures 22.5 x 11 x 6 cm and weighs 1.6 kg. There are no additional USB slots or M.2 SSD. The manufacturer focused only on the ability to connect graphics accelerators. Aoostar AG01 supports OCuLink interface with speeds of up to 64 Gbps for eGPU, in addition to also being compatible with Lenovo TGX.
Thanks to OCuLink support, the dock can handle high-end graphics cards without any issues. For comparison, Thunderbolt 4, which is used in many docks like this, offers a bandwidth of 32 Gbps.
The integrated power supply is 400 W and is designed to connect video cards with TDP up to 250 W.
Price and availability
The Aoostar A01 is now available in the international market for US$149.
