Nintendo Switch has 143 million units sold

Nintendo revealed in its latest financial report that the Nintendo Switch continues to sell very well and has reached 143.42 million units sold in total.

In May, this number was 141.32 million sales around the planet, showing that in just this first quarter of the 2025 fiscal year they achieved another 2.1 million – further increasing the platform’s base and bringing the hybrid console closer to the top of the podium of the best-selling consoles in the history of video games.

It is important to remember that the Nintendo Switch remains in third place in the ranking, losing only to the Nintendo DS (154.02 million) and the PlayStation 2 (155 million).

The manufacturer’s estimate is to sell at least 13.5 million consoles by March 2025 – driven by releases such as Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – not counting Pokémon Legends ZA and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, scheduled to arrive sometime next year.

Selling games on Nintendo Switch

In addition to the 143 million Nintendo Switches spread across the planet, the manufacturer also released an update on the sales of its games.

According to them, both Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD have reached 1 million units sold each.

They’ve also updated their list of the 12 best-selling Nintendo Switch games, with recent numbers for each. Check out the numbers below:

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 62.90 million;
2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 45.85 million;
3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 34.66 million;
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 32,05 milhões;
5. Super Mario Odyssey – 28.21 million;
6. Pokémon Sword & Shield – 26,35 milhões;
7. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – 25.29 million;
8. Super Mario Party – 20.84 million;
9. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 20,80 milhões;
10. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 17.61 million
