AMD officially reveals Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, its most powerful APU with 55 TOPS

AMD has officially confirmed the existence of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, which will be its most powerful Strix Point processor. The APU has gained an official page on the manufacturer’s website, confirming the performance of up to 55 TOPS for its NPU.

The APU that will “command” the Ryzen AI 300 line has already appeared a few times in unofficial leaks. Initially, in the CPU-Z update for Zen 5, the processor already appeared, with some of its specs. Then, HP “jumped the start” by promising a version of the Omnibook Ultra 14 using the component that has not yet been officially announced.

Now, just a few days before the official debut of the entire Ryzen AI 300 series, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 has its details released on AMD’s page:

• Cores and threads: 12 and 24
• Architecture: 4 Zen 5 cores + 8 Zen 5c cores
• Clock: base 2GHz | boost até 5,1GHz
• Cache: 12MB L2 + 24MB L3
• Graphics: Radeon 890M with 16 CUs
• NPU: XDNA 2 com 55 TOPS
• Standard TDP: 28W

Leaks have already indicated the potential for the graphics that will be used in this new APU. The Radeon 890M, also present in the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, appeared to easily outperform some of its competitors. Meanwhile, the NPU has the potential to stand out even more.

Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 may have the best AI performance

Those who follow the hardware world know that clock speeds do not define CPU and FLOPS do not define GPU, so an NPU is also not fully defined by its TOPS. However, the number is still indicative of a component’s potential.

Therefore, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375’s 55 TOPS could put the APU at the top of consumer processors when it comes to AI. As WCCFTech notes, the number is 10% higher than the second most advanced Strix Point, 15% higher than what is present in Intel’s Lunar Lake, and up to 22% more than what the Snapdragon X Elite offers.
