Samsung has finally obtained NVIDIA’s approval for its HBM3E memories, a goal they wanted to achieve in order to close the first orders and start production of the hardware.
Rumors suggest that NVIDIA initially rejected the samples sent by the Korean company, and was forced to make adjustments and fix problems in order to receive the green light. Their certification was essential to move forward with the project, considering that the corporation will be one of the largest customers that will use these memories.
With this development, it is stated that Samsung has redirected part of its production lines to work with HBM3E – with 30% of the team working on DRAM production focused on the new objective. The intention is to meet the demand of NVIDIA, which intends to use them in its “Blackwell” GPUs for artificial intelligence.

Samsung wants to take over its rivals’ space
According to multiple sources, Samsung is expected to start supplying HBM3E memory to NVIDIA starting next quarter, based on the approval process. However, SK Hynix remains their main partner, as they received the certification the longest ago.
Its goal is to increasingly reduce this space, meeting the demands of Jensen Huang’s corporation and delivering quality hardware to be used in its “Blackwell” products. Considering that it has factories with greater capacity than its rivals, it is expected to play a vital role in this industry.
NVIDIA and Samsung go hand in hand
And it’s not just in “Blackwell” AI GPUs that Samsung will seek to meet NVIDIA’s demands in future hardware they produce. The Korean company is also competing with SK Hynix and Micron to be the main supplier of GDDR7.
It is worth remembering that GeForce RTX 50 video cards will use this standard, further increasing the graphics scale of computers in the near future. Although details of the competition have not been released, Intel and AMD are also expected to adopt the technology to keep their products competitive in the market.
