Currently the most affordable chip for the platform AM5 and the Ryzen 5 7500F, option with 6 cores and 12 threads. However, this should change soon, as AMD has plans to also bring options Athlon e Ryzen 3 for this platform, further expanding the range of processor options compatible with the successor socket to AM4. According to research by the Italian website Bits and Chipsthe company will soon launch these AM5-compatible chips.

The Athlon/Ryzen 3 in question would be based on the Zen 4 architecture. AMD will use the same CCD as the older Ryzen 7000 series processors. The production process will also be inferior to the Zen 5 chips, as processors based on AMD’s latest architecture are produced under the 4nm lithography, while Zen4 options are on 7nm.

The specifications of the new products have not yet been announced. They are likely to offer 6 cores and 12 threads, just like the Ryzen 5 7500F. The suggested price range for these processors is expected to be under $100.
