MSI is releasing a video celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of its first notebook, the M510C. They highlight the experience that the public has had with them since then, as well as the advancements that have been made over the last two decades.
The M510C was marketed with an Intel Centrino processor and could be accompanied by a Radeon 9600 or 9700 iGPU. The notebook was 15 inches and its memory was DDR-3000 with support for up to 2GB. Its connectivity was via WiFi-G.
It is important to note that MSI entered this market late, launching its first model only in 2004. ASUS, for example, brought the P6300 notebook in 1997 and HP came from even further back – 1984. Its entry into this race was due to the increased demand for products of this type, allowing it to remain until today.
The video also highlights their GX600 model, the industry’s first overclockable notebook. Released in 2007, it featured a GeForce 8600M GT iGPU.
Currently, MSI has as its main model the MSI Titan 18 Pro Ryzen Edition – which can be sold with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics. However, they are not going to stop there and the new notebooks with AMD Ryzen AI 300 are already in production, with the expectation of being launched this July.

MSI in the notebook market
MSI’s recent focus is on bringing notebooks aimed at the gaming market, with a premium design and components and features that help people run their favorite games. With the launch of models with AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Core Ultra 200V, the promise is to bring greater energy efficiency and longer battery life.
It’s worth noting that, so far, the manufacturer has stayed away from Chrome OS/Chromebook models and has also not announced any Copilot+ notebooks with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors. This may change in the coming years, but for now they remain focused on bringing a gaming experience to users.
