Leaks have begun for the next generation of Zen 5-based Ryzen processors for professional use. After the product names, we now have details about a Ryzen AI 7 PRO 160. The eight-core APU has appeared on Geekbench, running in a Lenovo notebook.
As mentioned, the new chip features eight cores, according to the leak, which means 16 threads. The configuration is eye-catching: three Zen 5 cores and five Zen 5C cores. They appear accompanied by a new integrated GPU, the Radeon 870M.
The folks at WCCFTech speculate that this new version of the integrated graphics will feature 8 Compute Units (CUs). The estimate is based on the names of already known models – the Radeon 890M offers 16 and the 880M drops to 12. Following the trend, the 870M would have 8.
Other details appear in the leak. The Ryzen AI 7 PRO 160 would come with a base clock of 2GHz, which has proven to be a standard, with a boost clock of up to 4.3GHz. There are 8MB of L2 cache and another 8MB of L3 cache.
Moving on to performance itself, the APU achieved 2514 points in single core and 11,772 in multi-core in GeekBench. This puts the component very close to the Ryzen 9 8945HS.
Meanwhile, one detail about the processor’s name should be highlighted. According to WCCFTech, the “160” that appears should refer to early engineering samples. As we know, AMD has been using numbers within “300” for its Ryzen AI, so it is quite possible that the final commercial name of this product will be Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360.
This week we had the first leak of AMD’s next-generation professional APUs. The Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 and Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 were revealed. If the speculation about the name difference is correct, the model that leaked now on Geekbench is the same one that appeared previously.
If that’s the case, the VideoCardz folks’ estimate was way off for the AI ​​7 PRO 360, as the site expected it to be a version of the Ryzen AI 9 365. With the details now uncovered, WCCFTech ventures to say that we’re not even talking about a SKU from the Strix Point line anymore, but rather the first Kraken Point we’ll see in stores.
