Laptop manufacturer GPD has published some benchmarks regarding the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 showing its capabilities with Zen 5 cores and RDNA 3.5 iGPU. The CPU can deliver single-core performance similar to the Ryzen 9 7950X and graphics performance close to the RTX 3050 mobile.
Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is the top-of-the-line SKU in AMD’s Strix Point series. In fact, the lineup only consists of two processors. It equips GPD’s next device, a notebook with two 13.3-inch screens.
To reveal the capabilities of its laptop, the manufacturer decided to show what AMD’s new CPU is capable of. The SKU is equipped with 12 cores and 24 threads, based on Zen 5, clocks between 2.0 and 5.1 GHz, 36 MB of cache and TDP that ranges between 15 and 54W.
In Cinebench 2024, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 cores proved to be very powerful, delivering the same single-thread performance as the powerful Ryzen 9 7950X, top-of-the-line SKU (not X3D) of the Ryzen 7000 desktop series. Remembering that both have a 600 MHz difference in boost.
Looking at the multi-core test, GPD compared it with the Ryzen 9 5950X, another still strong CPU with 16 cores and 32 threads. Even so, the Strix Point processor was able to overcome it, even if just barely.
Performance da iGPU RDNA 3
Remember that we said here that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370’s RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics deliver around 3,600 points in 3DMark Time Spy? So, it appears that he goes much further, according to GPD. Exceeding 4,200 points, the iGPU comes close to the GeForce RTX 3050 mobile with a difference of just 226 points.
The person responsible for this good graphics performance is the Radeon 890M, the largest implementation of integrated graphics based on RDNA 3.5 present in the Ryzen AI 300. It has 16 computing units operating at 2.9 GHz.
The notebook manufacturer also revealed the performance of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in AI. A performance of 80 TOPS was recorded, basically double the capacity of the Ryzen 8000 mobile in this type of processing, surpassing the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H by a good margin, although the AMD Strix Point’s direct rivals are the Lunar Lake CPUs.
The performance of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is very promising and will elevate the capabilities of a notebook with top-of-the-line desktop CPU processing and graphics close to entry-level GPUs.
