At a time when manufacturers are prioritizing the delivery of GPUs to data centers, the few that will continue to reach consumers will become even more expensive. According to the Commercial Times, MSI is already preparing to start charging more for the RTX 50 models it will send to stores.
The vehicle states that the company is not alone in this endeavor, which should soon be joined by both ASUS and Gigabyte. With this, companies will pass on to consumers the higher amounts they have to pay to NVIDIA to obtain their hardware.

The Commercial Times states that the decision should not only affect NVIDIA’s RTX 50 line. This is because AMD was also forced to charge more from its partners, given the fact that it was also greatly affected by the increase in the price of RAM memory — a result of the large global investment in artificial intelligence.
Suggested prices for the RTX 50 should not change, but GPUs will become more expensive
According to the report, the increases scheduled by MSI, Gigabyte and ASUS (among others) will happen even if the prices suggested for the RTX 50 line remain the same. NVIDIA’s idea would be to temporarily “hold” prices so that consumers are not so affected by adverse market conditions.
However, the decision was not seen so well by the company’s partners, who would be forced to reduce profit margins and swallow possible losses. While the prices they pay for GPUs remain the same, they still have to bear the rising costs of GDDR6 and GDDR7 memories.

The Commercial Times’ prediction is that the readjustment of the RTX 50 line will be carried out in January, with increases of 15% to 20% in prices — the more VRAM a GPU has, the more expensive it will be. At the same time, AMD’s AMD RX 9000 series is expected to see adjustments of 10% to 18%, depending on the model.
Thus, the “suggested prices” by AMD and NVIDIA should become just a reference that will be difficult to follow by a manufacturer or store. Reports indicate that companies know that 2026 will be a complicated year for their sectors focused on common consumers and, even for this reason, they have decided to hold back on introducing new models to the market.
