The crisis of inflated memory component prices is already causing confusion in the GPU market at the beginning of 2026. After informing Hardware Unboxed that it would be ceasing production of its 16GB RTX 5070 Ti and 5060 Ti cards, ASUS has now issued a new statement, saying that this is not the case and the models will continue to be available.
The company’s new official statement, which you can see in a screenshot below, suggests that one of ASUS’s public relations representatives got mixed up in his speech. “Some media may have received incomplete information from an ASUS representative regarding these products,” says the post, referring to the plates.
“The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and 16GB GeForce RTX 5060 Ti have not been discontinued or designated as End of Life (EOL). ASUS has no plans to stop selling these models,” the latest statement reads.
Continuing its statement, the company recognizes the current problem in the memory market, saying that this may “temporarily affect” production and stock replenishment cycles. “As a result, availability may appear limited in certain markets, but this should not be interpreted as a stop in production or termination of the product.”
Reality does not always reflect official statements
Amid official statements from ASUS and even NVIDIA itself, rumors continue to emerge talking about the different positions that companies will adopt to overcome the high prices and low availability of memory components that we will see throughout 2026.
The guys at VideoCardz, for example, say they confirmed with NVIDIA’s own sources that changes were happening in the allocation of supplies for the supply of graphics cards.

Meanwhile, rumors coming from China indicate that the owner of GeForce would be prioritizing GPU models with 8GB, to the detriment of the RTX 5070 Ti and the 16GB 5060 Ti.
Ultimately, it is by observing the availability of products in practice that we will see the real results of company policies. Even though a production shutdown is not official, it makes little difference if the boards disappear from the shelves.
