The idea of putting an entire mini PC inside a compact keyboard isn’t exactly new, but HP still managed to present a very interesting product at CES 2026. The EliteBoard H1a was designed for the job, offering a really compact computer that connects to the monitor via USB-C.
What stands out most about the PC inside an HP keyboard is how thin it is. The keyboard is 12mm thick and is smaller than many others without internal components for a computer, and is much thinner than the Raspberry Pi 500+, for example, which offers a similar solution.

Internally, the EliteBoard is equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor, but HP has not yet revealed which specific model, or whether users will be able to choose between more than one option. These are processors for notebooks that should offer competent daily usability, especially for office work, which is the focus of this mini PC.

“Work is being redefined in real time – where it happens, how it happens and what tools employees need to stay productive,” said Guayente Sanmartin, company executive. “HP’s focus is on removing the friction and complexity that slows people down and turning emerging AI into a real advantage.”
HP still does not reveal date or price of the mini PC on the keyboard
HP did not yet want to talk about a specific date for the launch of the EliteBoard, nor its price. Therefore, the company also does not provide memory settings, which should define the product’s value ranges. We have at least a debut window, which is March 2026.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that, despite not yet having many details, the keyboard-shaped mini PC has already had an optional feature revealed: a small 32W internal battery. HP says the extra can be an advantage for moving the EliteBoard from one place to another without having to turn off the system. It can also be a safeguard to avoid losing work in cases of momentary power outages.
