Just before CES, Acemagic announced that it would be bringing an NES-inspired retro mini PC to the event. And it more than fulfilled its promise, as the company showcased three systems, two with a retro touch.

The new system inspired by the Dreamcast and the original PlayStation is called Board 3 Dual-C Retro Style. It has two buttons on the top edge, alongside a circular detail that resembles a top-loading disk drive.
On the front, Acemagic added a dedicated power button and a small I/O strip with USB Type-A, USB Type-C ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Cutting-edge Hardware

In terms of hardware, Acemagic uses AMD’s new “Gorgon Point” platform. The information is from a Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 with a 12-core, 24-thread CPU and an integrated Radeon 890M iGPU with 16 compute units. The company also lists up to 64 GB of memory (SO-DIMM).
The company claims support for up to two 4TB M.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs, depending on configuration. The measurements revealed for the cabinet are around 0.73 liters in volume and dimensions of 140 x 128 x 40.8 mm.
Price and launch date were not announced at CES.
Intel and more AMD

Regarding the model based on Intel’s “Panther Lake”, it promises exceptional energy efficiency in a mini PC. The version with Core Ultra X9 388H with an Arc B390 iGPU and memory capacity of up to 96 GB LPDDR5X.
This model features a modern design with an aluminum structure. The system measures 147 x 147 x 39 mm, which corresponds to approximately 0.85 liters. And the power consumption of 65 W, which is the operating power of the system.

Acemagic also offers a “performance” version of this same model, which uses the same specifications, but with a 120W Intel 18A SoC for greater power. However, this model requires extra space for refrigeration, with dimensions of 147 x 147 x 81 mm and a volume of approximately 1.75 liters.

The icing on the cake was the ANK CENTER M1A PRO+, following the current trend and aimed at intensive Artificial Intelligence inference and creative workloads. It uses an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and achieves up to 126 TOPS total AI computing performance.
It comes with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X unified memory and includes three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots. This makes it suitable for large AI models and applications that require large storage capacity.
