AMD this week published its financial report for the third quarter of 2025, highlighting not only its performance in recent months, but also its plans for the future. That’s why the company confirmed that both its Venice generation Epyc processors and the Instinct MI400 AI accelerators will arrive in the professional segment in 2026.

AMD CEO Lisa Su herself spoke to the company’s investors, saying: “we remain on track to launch our next generation of Venice processors at 2 nanometers in 2026. Venice silicon is in the labs and performing very well, delivering substantial gains in performance, efficiency and computational density.”

The company confirmed in April that its next-generation Epyc uses TSMC’s 2nm process. Speaking at the time, the head of AMD added that the “engagement” for Venice would be the strongest the company has seen so far, with multiple partners already placing orders.

AMD Instinct MI400 accelerators also arrive next year

Taking advantage of the subject, the company wanted to highlight that its next AI accelerators will also arrive in 2026, offering a complete set for professional use in a new generation.

“Our AI data center business is entering its next phase of growth with customer momentum increasing rapidly as we approach the launch of our MI400 series of accelerators and Helios scalable rack solutions in 2026,” said Lisa Su.

“The MI400 Series brings together our silicon, software and systems expertise to power Helios, our AI-scalable rack platform designed to redefine performance and efficiency at data center scale.”

All done in 2nm

While Lisa Su makes a point of reiterating that Epyc Venice processors are manufactured in 2nm, the executive does not mention the same for MI400 series GPUs. However, she herself mentioned in an interview that the MI450 uses TSMC’s most advanced technology.

If the previous statement was just a slip-up, it has not yet been corrected. It may also be the case that not every GPU in the MI400 series uses 2nm, so the technology is not mentioned when the company talks about accelerators in general terms – but we are speculating.

In any case, AMD appears positioned to redouble its attention in the professional segment next year, mainly with its Helios system – which already promises advantages over NVIDIA’s rival Vera Rubin platform.
